Every person on this earth has the decision of whether or not they believe in God. People all over the world are given the free will to choose what they believe in. They can live by the bible or completely disregard it. Individuals can choose to go to church one weekend and not the next. We can look to God for answers in a difficult situation but choose to ignore Him in good circumstances. Trying to search for God in all aspects of life can be very challenging and may take a lot of time and effort. As a Christian believer and a follower of Christ, I believe it is very important for me to seek God in all aspects of life, and make sure He is the center of my existence. I believe that finding Faith and believing in our Almighty God is challenging but once we believe and see the goodness of the Lord life can be much brighter for us. I have found that believing in God and following the Word of the Lord has helped me live a life filled with faith, happiness, and guidance. I have just finished my junior year of college at a Liberal Arts school, Allegheny College. At my institution, there are almost three thousand people who come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnic groups, and religious origins. I have met a diverse group of individuals who have all taught and shown me different ways of living. It has become very clear to me that people have different opinions and beliefs and do not want to be forced into joining certain groups or believing in distinctive practices.  It is not our jobs as Christians to force our opinions, beliefs, and practices on others who do not believe in our religions. Although, it is our job to lead and exemplify Christian filled lives where we inspire others for greatness, encourage people to seek goodness, and teach others the way of God. Christians are often scorned and ridiculed for “forcing” our beliefs onto others. People detest the Christian faith and despise the teachings of its roots. I have found that instead of giving into the hate people portray against our religion and arguing back to others, it is important to focus on the good in the situation. I have found that looking past the differences among peers and disregarding their hate for my religion has made me a stronger individual, given me opportunity to grow my faith, and has humbled me. If we are able to connect with others and create friendships with people who have different beliefs than us, it provides us with opportunities to show them the reasons why we believe in God. This does not mean we must force the practices and teachings of the Christian faith but show them Gods glory by being a true friend. Everyone struggles in life. No one is perfect. We all have shared a great number of ups and downs, but it’s when we are down and lost that we need others the most. Being a friend first and being there for others when they are lost is very important. If you are there to help them when they feel helpless, you are showing them the grace that God shows us when we feel helpless. When we show others how we cope with our struggles, by leaning on God, we expose them to the beauty of our personal relationship with the Lord. God is victorious and willing to accept His children into His arms whenever we are ready to turn towards him. He is always there waiting for us to join Him. It may take some of us longer than others but sharing our Christians lives with our peers may help them facilitate their own relationships with God.

Last week I had the opportunity to listen in on a zoom live event hosted by an organization called Vagabond. The purpose of this ministry is for missionaries to go into inner-city areas and create bonds with teens who come from broken family lives, neglect, and violence. “Vagabond Missions introduces them to Jesus and a loving community by mobilizing missionaries.” Individuals devote their lives to spreading the word of God, first through their actions, then through His word. This mission shows the importance of gaining friendship with others and reaching out to those who may be lost or helpless. Vagabonds Missionary has exemplified the importance of being a comforting friend who shares faith without forcing it among others. It is Gods will for us to share our faith to others and inspire others to live a life with Jesus Christ.
