Throughout the year, there are many times in which we are reminded to be thankful. The holiday of Thanksgiving commonly is the season in which we give thanks for all we have been given and for those family and friends closest to us. We also tend to give thanks in times of success. It's pretty obvious as to why during these times of life we remember to give thanks. But these should not be the only cases in which we give God praise. In life we go through many ups and downs. Almost everything we encounter is unpredictable, with the exception of one thing, God. God and His love is forever constant within our lives, if we allow it to be. God never leaves our side whether it be a time of turmoil or success, He is there. A lot of times I think this is easily forgotten because it's convenient for us to love God when we want to. If you think about an individual's relationship with God in comparison to humans relationships, technically our relationship with God should fail. One person always being there and the other being there when it's convenient for them is a recipe for disaster. Because God understands us and how we function as flawed humans, he is forgiving and never leaves our side no matter how much we push him away. In this time of Lent, we should be reminded just how strong God’s love for us is. We should give thanks to Him and for all of our blessings. We should give thanks in times of trouble. We should give thanks in times of achievement. We should give thanks in times of fear. We should simply always give thanks because there is no greater gift than that of God’s love and forgiveness.
