Recently I’ve been talking to some of my friends about where they are in their faith life at the moment. These conversations can be difficult and complex ones to have. Faith is different for every person, and there is no “right” way to be in relationship with God. People often compare or try to mirror their faith/religion off of someone in their life. This is a good idea when first getting started, but as we get older, it’s our responsibility to take our faith into our own hands. After being guided by parents, teachers, and friends for so long, taking control over our own individual faith can be hard and confusing at times. Many people describe the feeling of being lost. Let me tell you that if you are feeling like this, you are certainly not the only one. It’s 100% okay to feel lost at times. Faith is a learning process that takes a different form for every person. People use the bible, inspiring religious books, the rosary, masses, or even just conversation with others to guide their faith life. Each and every path you can take is special because it is yours and only yours. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, he simply expects us to try. As you read this you may think “oh the girls who make and write this blog every week really have it together in terms of their faith”. But the truth is, we don’t always have it together, we learn and get better everyday. When deciding to even start this blog I remember thinking to myself, “am I even knowledgeable enough to start this blog”?  The answer is yes! There is no perfect place to be in terms of where your faith life is. In fact, God actually encourages us to grow rather than remain in the same place. If you are feeling lost in your search for faith, I suggest talking to someone about it. It's hard to figure out your relationship with God through only your own thoughts. Having a conversation with someone can make you see and think in a completely new light. Each and every person has their own experience with God, and by talking and sharing with others we continue to learn and grow. Faith isn't like a subject that someone learns in school. It is rather a feeling and experience of allowing God to enter and guide one's life. You can never learn too much. Just as we physically grow and change, we should also be spiritually growing and changing. Through this process, remember God is with you and will never leave your side. As long as you don't give up on God, He won't give up on you.
